Water Fight
BEIRUT (AFP) - Lebanese President Emile Lahoud vowed to thrust ahead with plans to divert water from the country's Hasbani river, despite threats from Israel over the use of the water supply that feeds the Jewish state's own fresh water resources.
Lahoud hailed the decision to channel water from the Hasbani's tributary, the Wazzani, for 20 villages in south Lebanon as "a definitive and irreversible decision."
